For the 2020 vintage, we had the honor of visiting the famous cherry winery and orchard and harvesting our own cherries. We also got to visit and talk with owner Harald, and winemaker Jonas, and pick their brain a bit. After a day full of tasting and learning about cherry wine production, we headed home with a brain full of knowledge and ideas on how to improve our beloved cherry beer. The result was a shorter maceration than previous vintages, with twice daily pump-overs to maximize skin exposure and keep the temperature of the maceration homogenous. We are ecstatic with the results, and we know you will be too!
