The 2020 Kopke Late Bottled Vintage Port is deep and opaque in colour, with an expressive nose of ripe dark fruits, blackberry and blueberry, complemented by subtle herbal notes and hints of cacao and chocolate.
Full-bodied and concentrated on the palate, it combines juicy black fruit with fresh acidity and fine, chalky tannins. The richness is well balanced, leading to a long, generous finish with plenty of depth and structure.
The International Wine Challenge awarded this wine 92 points, praising its fresh, perfumed blueberry and juicy blackberry character, together with its fine tannins, and concluding: “Cellar for reward!”
An excellent example of the Late Bottled Vintage style, offering much of the richness and intensity of Vintage Port while being approachable much earlier. Enjoy with medium to mature cheeses, dark chocolate desserts or simply on its own after dinner.
