Gente de Mezcal Tobala is produced by Aureliano Hernández, a 5th generation mezcalero, in San Baltazar Guelavila, Oaxaca.
The agave piñas are cooked in a ground oven, crushed with a stone mill, naturally fermented in wooden vats, and distilled in copper pots.
This Tobala has herbal tones along with flavors of simmering home cooked beef broth lightened up by a touch of rosemary.
Gente de Mezcal Tobala won a Double Gold Medal at the 2019 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
