Bodegas Monfil's vineyards cover an area of approximately 22 hectares, where the primary grape varieties are Garnacha and Tempranillo, grown in pristine conditions. The average age of the vines are around 35 years old. The family owned winery is located in the northeast of Spain, Capital of Aragon region and Zaragoza province, on the Ebro river.
Grape varieties: Garnacha & a touch of Shiraz.
Appearance: Intense dark ruby color.
Nose: Fresh and lively cherry and blackcurrant fruit abound.
Palate: Extended softness in the mouth, cherry, blueberries and a touch of pepper. Nice and smooth, supple tannins with an excellent finish belying the humble price.
Recommended dishes: excellent by itself or with rice dishes, duck, grilled vegetables, roasted lamb, cold meat, cured cheese and Asian dishes.
