A medium bodied, tasty Bordeaux blend and the ‘prestige’ house red at Hotel du Vin. The back label: ‘This is a classic Bordeaux blend of three quarters Merlot and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon. Medium bodied and partially aged in oak, it’s easy, fruity and supple enough to drink quite young. A French bistro sort of wine.’ Although it’s a young red, it’s ready to drink now, with attractive, easy fruit and soft, supple tannins. It’s best served with red meats as you’d expect, and goes well with tasty suppers like spaghetti bolognese.
