Located in the municipality of La Morra, in the province of Cuneo, the Gianni Gagliardo estate has a very long winemaking tradition that dates back to the distant 1800s, but it was only in the 1970s that the first bottles were marketed under the current brand. Today the company is one of the most renowned in Barolo and owns 10 vineyard plots, distributed in 5 different municipalities from which it produces elegant and highly valuable wines. In 2017 the company also acquired the Garetto estate, located in Agliano Terme, in the heart of the Barbera d'Asti production area.

The Nebbiolo grapes for Gianni Gagliardo's Barolo are selected from various vineyards located in the municipalities of La Morra, Monforte, Serralunga, Barolo, and Verduno. After fermentation, the wine is aged for 27 months in large oak barrels.

It is a complex wine with great character that has an intense ruby red color and a complex and intoxicating aromatic profile. On the nose, it reveals aromas of dried rose petals, berries, and delicate spicy notes. On the palate, it is characterful and elegant, balanced and fruity. The tannins are firm but well-integrated and the finish is long and pleasant. It is the ideal wine for game meat, but it also pairs well with truffle-based recipes and mushroom lasagna.
