When young, the wines are robust and aromatic, with baked plum, warm earth, leather, thyme and dark chocolate characters. With age they become tawnier and spicier.
Try with roast pork loin and garlic, sauteed chicken a la Bordelaise (with potatoes and fried onion rings) or an artichoke and wild mushroom salad.
