Behold, the Lucky Saint is here to convert you to heavenly alcohol-free beer. Hallelujah, it’s a miracle…

The times they are a-changin’. Moderation is no longer a dirty word. But unfortunately most alcohol-free beers – despite their good intentions – are from a flavour perspective sinners beyond redemption. Until now. Enter Lucky Saint; a blessed alcohol-free Unfiltered Lager walking a very righteous and delicious path.

You know it’s something a little bit special when an alcohol-free beer launches with a Rankin-photographed campaign featuring nuns and a bible reference warning you to “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” But it runs much deeper than simply clever marketing; this is an exceptional beer irrespective of its alcohol content.

Lucky Saint’s creator Luke Boase took an enormous leap of faith when he quit his job, gave up booze and jetted off to Germany to create an alcohol-free beer worth drinking. Many in the industry told him he was crazy and he’d be better off making fizzy pop instead. Undeterred, he spent two years perfecting his Unfiltered Lager, which is crafted using the highest quality Pilsner malt, fresh Hallertau hops, Bavarian water and a yeast of his very own creation. It’s brewed using step mashing, which is an expensive and laborious process, but provides complete control of the final flavour, feel and balance and leaves less residual sugar in the beer. It’s then carefully distilled to remove the alcohol using a patented vacuum distillation process, which lowers the evaporation temperature of the alcohol and prevents the unusual burnt toast flavours often found in other alcohol-free beers. And finally, it’s bottled unfiltered ensuring a full and distinctive flavour and also a vegan-friendly beer. Now, those same brewers that told Luke he was crazy are heaping praise on his Lucky Saint.
