“As usual, the Vieilles Vignes takes things to another level. The 2017 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vieilles Vignes—a blend of 45% Grenache (aged in concrete) and Mourvèdre (aged in new barrels), plus 10% Syrah (also in new wood)—offers intense aromas of purple raspberry, black cherry, and plums, plus hints of vanilla and spice. Full-bodied, lush, and creamy on the palate, it remains balanced and fresh, with a remarkably long finish.” (Wine Advocate 2019 – Joe Czerwinski)
